11.7.3. Vibrational Modes in Doped C70 Solids

Studies of the vibrational modes of doped solid C70 have focused on the fully saturated insulating alkali metal compound M_,.C70 (x ~ 6) and on the maximum-conductivity phase (x ~ 4). Only a small number of reports are presently available for the vibrational properties of doped MXC70.

Regarding the insulating M6C70 phase (M = K, Rb, Cs), the Raman spectra shown in Fig. 11.31(b) exhibit many more spectral features than the corresponding spectrum for M6C60, which is shown in Fig. 11.31(a) [11.148].
