Nanotechnology Environmental and Health Implications NEHI

The Nanotechnology Environmental and Health Implications (NEHI) working group, composed of several U.S. government agencies, has researched and reported on concerns about the safety of nanotechnology products. As of late 2006, one of the overriding concerns NEHI identified was the difficulty and critical importance of reviewing the safety of nanotechnology quickly enough to keep pace with the rapid development and implementation of nanoproducts. Research and development, known as "R and D," can occur very rapidly in the field of nanotechnology, but the study of potential risks of new products to health and the environment can take considerable time to reach conclusions and make decisions about product safety.
