are block copolymer vesicles that may prove to be effective for the simultaneous delivery of both hydrophilic and hydrophobic agents.21,22 However, most of the block copolymer micelles used in drug delivery consist of spherical, star-type micelles as they are formed from copolymers that have a hydrophilic block that is of equal or greater length than the hydrophobic core-forming block.3 A sample transmission electron micrograph of a population of spherical micelles is shown in Figure 17.2.
