Disadvantages of Nanoshells

Although nanoshells with attractive optical properties (which can be systematically fine-tuned) offer great promises in cancer detection and treatment, limitations still exist. The biggest disadvantage of nanoshells is probably their little-known fate following introduction into human bodies. These particles have a very small size which might present some potential undesired effects on the organs and tissues in our bodies. More intensive in vivo animal studies are currently being completed in order to investigate both applications and limitations of nanoshells in cancer imaging and treatment.

Diabetes is a disease that affects the way your body uses food. Normally, your body converts sugars, starches and other foods into a form of sugar called glucose. Your body uses glucose for fuel. The cells receive the glucose through the bloodstream. They then use insulin a hormone made by the pancreas to absorb the glucose, convert it into energy, and either use it or store it for later use.
